The biggest challenge in oil and gas is not extraction or refining. It is maintaining safe, continuous communication across hazardous, remote and corrosive environments where a failed gateway can blind operators to a critical field condition.

Wellheads, pipelines, terminals, tank farms, refineries and jetties combine old instruments, long distances, harsh weather, explosive atmospheres and strict safety requirements.

For these environments, standard industrial equipment is often not enough. Area classification, ATEX/IECEx suitability, DNV/marine requirements and IEC 62443-aligned cybersecurity must be considered product by product and site by site.
